Houston Residents at Increased Risk for Road Rage Incidents and Accidents Commuting to Work

Every Houston resident has likely experienced some type of road rage incident or accident at least once while living here. Houston’s reputation for having terrible traffic is a common theme and well-known experience shared among all, especially those spending significant time commuting to and from work. But is it really as bad as it seems? The answer is Yes.

Recent statistics confirm Houston suffers from some of the worst traffic in the nation – ranking among one of the worst cities for drivers in America. This is especially true for the large percentage of Houston residents on the road commuting to and from work.

According to Forbes, Houston drivers have the 4th worst commute after releasing results from a study analyzing 25 of the largest U.S. cities and commute times among workers. On average, Houston has some of the longest commute times and continues to rank among the worst in the nation.

The latest data shows Houstonians spend an average of at least thirty minutes commuting to their jobs each day. Commuting longer distances and increased driving time leaves Houston residents at a higher risk than majority of the nation for roadway incidents and accidents, especially during rush hour commutes.

Combining Houston’s population influx with greater driving distances due to the geographic size of the city and surrounding areas, it’s no wonder Houston continues to have some of the worst traffic in the nation and statistically some of the most dangerous roadways.
