John Henry is a native Houstonian with a passion for helping others in their time of need. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in American Studies from Sewanee: The University of the South. After college, John Henry attended the University of Houston Law Center where he became an active member of the school’s National Mock Trial Team. In total, John Henry competed in eleven mock trial competitions and served on the executive board during his final year of law school. During his time in law school, John Henry won three out of the four of University of Houston Law Center’s interscholastic mock trial competitions. He also achieved national success by winning the 2023 Trials & Tribulations Mock Trial Tournament. John Henry’s advocacy skills led to his induction into the prestigious Order of the Barristers, a testament to his excellence in courtroom litigation.
Prior to joining Abraham Watkins, John Henry worked for several prominent personal injury firms and clerked for the Honorable Christine Weems of the 281st District Court in Harris County, Texas. After gaining invaluable insight from behind the bench and upon passing the bar, John Henry joined Abraham Watkins where he has worked on a wide range of cases, including trucking and automobile accidents, wrongful death, plant explosions, electrocutions, shootings, and DRAM shop incidents involving the overservice of alcohol.
