According to a 2014 lawsuit against The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, the nightclub, and Roof Deck Entertainment LLC, a guest was forcibly taken into a security room by the manager and security officers, who then demanded his identification and credit card despite him having already paid a bill exceeding $10,000.
“The Marquee security personnel and manager pushed the guest to the ground, causing his head to strike the concrete forcefully,” the lawsuit states. “The Marquee security personnel and manager repeatedly struck and pressed the guest’s head into the concrete, holding his head and right eye against the ground with excessive pressure.”
The guest was diagnosed with a concussion, a bruise on his right eye, swelling in the head, and sore arms and neck. Subsequently, it was determined that this guest had experienced a traumatic brain injury.
A jury verdict was returned in favor of the Plaintiff in the amount of $160.5 million dollars.
