Test Drive Forever Changes the Lives of Three Children

Test Drive Forever Changes the Lives of Three Children

Three children’s lives changed forever on June 7, 2024, when their mother, Quma Martinez Carrillo, was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Odessa, Texas. A wrongful death suit was filed against the defendant driver, the car salesman, and the dealership on behalf of Ms. Carrillo’s three children: Natasha Hitchcock, Alexis Urias, and Carillo’s minor son, G.C.

Benjamin Meece was test-driving a 2021 Dodge Challenger from All American Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram of Odessa with car salesman Kenneth Salas when he crashed into Ms. Carrillo. Meece was traveling at 120 mph (nearly three times the 45-mph speed limit) when he crashed into Ms. Carrillo, causing her to be thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The Dodge Challenger’s surveillance footage and data shows Meece reached a maximum speed of 124 mph during his test drive. Meece made no attempt to render aid and attempted to flee the crash scene on foot before Odessa police arrested him and charged him with four felony charges, including manslaughter and aggravated assault.
