Husband and Wife Attacked by Dominos Delivery Driver

In late November, Mr. and Mrs. Mezayek were walking home down Main Street in Houston, Texas after having dinner together nearby. Shortly into their walk, a Domino’s delivery driver on a bicycle began yelling at them as he traveled past. The delivery driver then abruptly dismounted his bicycle and began to stab Mr. Mezayek with a knife. The delivery driver allegedly stabbed Mr. Mezayek nine times before fleeing. Mrs. Mezayek, who unfortunately observed the entire attack, called emergency services who performed life saving care.

The delivery driver was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and has now been released on bond under GPS monitoring. The Mezayek’s have also filed a civil suit against the delivery driver for assault and Domino’s Pizza for negligence, negligent hiring, negligent supervision, and negligent retention. Additionally, Mrs. Mezayek filed a bystander claim for the severe mental anguish she endured while viewing the attack on her husband. The Mezayek’s allege that Domino’s hired incompetent, violent employees, and failed to perform background checks as the delivery driver allegedly has a violent criminal history.
