Tragic Hit-and-Run Incident in Northwest Harris County

On August 26, 2024, at approximately 9:30 PM in Northwest Harris County, a man in a wheelchair was hit by two vehicles while crossing Highway 6 near Timber Creek Place Lane. Police say the man in the wheelchair was first struck by a driver who was operating a white pickup truck. He was later struck once again by another driver operating a gray or white sedan. Neither of the drivers stopped to check on the man after striking him. As a result of the collisions, the man in the wheelchair tragically lost his life.

The driver of the pickup truck returned to the scene thirty minutes later and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. However, those charges could be upgraded once a thorough investigation and reconstruction of the crash have been performed.

This incident serves as a sobering reminder of the vulnerability of those navigating the streets, particularly at night, and the importance of driver vigilance.
