Five Killed in Fort Worth Crash

Around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, September 9, 2024, a fatal crash occurred on Interstate 35W near the Seminary Drive exit in Fort Worth, Texas. According to investigators, the crash happened when a black Camaro, traveling at high speed, rear-ended a sedan. The impact caused the sedan to catch fire, resulting in the deaths of all five occupants.

The nineteen-year-old driver of the Camaro was reportedly speeding when the collision occurred. Police stated that the driver showed signs of intoxication, and investigators found evidence of alcohol inside his vehicle. The driver now faces five counts of intoxication and manslaughter.

The victims in the sedan included two adults and three children, though their identities have yet to be officially confirmed by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. All five were pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the crash, the northbound lanes of I-35W were closed for several hours as investigators examined the crash site. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have not yet determined whether other factors contributed to the crash. This incident marks one of several fatal crashes that have occurred on Fort Worth highways in recent weeks.
