In October of 2024, the toy company, Fisher-Price, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of the Fisher-Price Snuga Swings following five reported infant deaths due to suffocation. The recall involves all twenty-one models of the swings, which were sold at Amazon, Target, Toys R Us, Sam’s Club, and Walmart, from October 2010 through January 2024. Approximately 2.1 million of the recalled swings were sold in the United States. The recalled swings were also sold in Canada and Mexico.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, if the recalled swings are used for sleep or there is an addition of bedding material, the headrest and seat pad body support insert can increase the risk of suffocation. Moreover, consumers are advised to immediately remove the headrest and the body support insert from the seat pad before continuing use of the recalled swing. Fisher-Price is offering a $25 refund for consumers who remove and destroy the aforementioned parts of the recalled swing, which was originally sold for $160.
