Houston, Texas (September 2, 2026) – Texas attorneys Mo Aziz, a partner of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner, along with Sean F. Rommel and James C. Wyly of the law firm of Wyly-Rommel, have filed a lawsuit against the Houston Galleria and its security companies following the fatal shooting of Anthony Sanders in a Houston Galleria parking garage on June 3, 2025.

The incident took place at approximately 5:00 p.m. in a parking garage at the Houston Galleria. Anthony Sanders and his young son were picking up his fiancée, Selena Patterson, when the assailants confronted and verbally harassed Selena in a Houston Galleria elevator.

There were at least two shooters involved in the shooting; one of whom was confirmed to be banned from the Houston Galleria. A video was posted on social media of the group being removed from the Houston Galleria by security. However, on the day of the Incident, this group was allowed back onto the Houston Galleria property, where they accosted Anthony’s fiancée, Selena Patterson, in the elevator. This group then threatened Anthony, at which point Anthony tried to leave in his vehicle with his fiancée and their one-year-old son; the group once again confronted Anthony and shot him multiple times.

As a result of this tragic incident, Anthony Sanders lost his life, Selena Patterson lost her fiancé, their child lost his father, and Ronyel and Frank Sanders lost their youngest son. Anthony Sanders was a Marine veteran and a devoted and loving fiancé, father, and son.

Commenting on the lawsuit, Attorney Mo Aziz said, “Based on the previous ban, this group consisted of known troublemakers who posed a security threat and should never have been allowed in the Houston Galleria again.”

Anthony’s family will be available during a press conference at the Law Offices of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 1 p.m.
