Attorney Brandy Wingate Voss Joins Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner As Of Counsel

Brandy WingateHouston, Texas (March 2025) — The law firm of Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Agosto, Aziz & Stogner is proud to announce that Brandy Wingate Voss has joined the firm as Of Counsel, bringing over 20 years of appellate law experience.

Brandy has been Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2009. She has represented clients before the Texas Supreme Court, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the Texas intermediate courts of appeals, and the Federal Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Third Circuits. In addition to her extensive experience in civil appellate matters, she has also handled numerous criminal appellate matters.

Brandy earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her law degree from Baylor Law School, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Baylor Law Review and as a brief writer on Baylor’s ABA Moot Court team. After graduating magna cum laude, she served as a law clerk to former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas R. Phillips.

Brandy founded the Law Offices of Brandy Wingate Voss in 2016. Previously, she was a Partner at Smith Law Group LLLP and served as the senior staff attorney to Justice Gina Benavides at the Thirteenth Court of Appeals in Edinburg. She began her legal career as an associate attorney in the trial and appellate practice group at Jenkens & Gilchrist, P.C. Additionally, Brandy also taught Constitutional Law and Criminal Evidence in the Criminal Justice Department at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley for many years.

A dedicated leader in the legal community, Brandy serves on numerous boards and committees. She is the Large Section Representative to the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors, Vice Chair of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Section, and a member of the State Bar College Board of Directors. Her past leadership roles include serving as a member of the Texas Supreme Court Rules Advisory Committee, District 13 Director for the Texas Young Lawyers Association, President of the Hidalgo County Bar Association, and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the State Bar Appellate Section’s newsletter, The Appellate Advocate. She is also a frequent speaker at continuing legal education programs on appellate law.

Brandy has been recognized on the Texas Super Lawyers list, published by Thomson Reuters, every year since 2014, as a testament to her excellence and commitment to appellate advocacy.
