A trampoline park in League City, Texas is contesting a lawsuit filed against them which alleged insufficient supervision led to a child’s injury. The parents of the injured child filed their lawsuit on August 14, 2023, after their young child sustained a fall at Jumping World that then required emergency surgery. The parents argue that Jumping World failed to provide adequate warnings to their customers, failed to properly train staff on safety measures, and failed to properly supervise the minor customers.
Jumping World has argued that Texas law requires parents to properly supervise their children, and that this duty can only be removed in unique circumstances. Jumping World has asked the Galveston County Court to include the parents of the injured minor on the verdict sheet as responsible third parties to this incident. The Court granted their motion and trial is scheduled for later this year where Jumping World will be allowed to argue that the parents contributed to the injury.
